Transfer Policy
Undergraduates pursuing a diploma may transfer up to 6 credit hours (including credit by examination) which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements of student’s diploma program at Huntington University of Health Sciences.

Undergraduates pursuing an Associates Degree may transfer up to 45 credit hours which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements. This includes credit by examination which may count for only 15 credit hours and are included in the maximum of 45 credit hours allowed for transfer credit.

Undergraduates pursuing a Bachelors Degree may transfer up to 90 credit hours which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements. This includes credit by examination which may count for only 30 credit hours and are included in the maximum of 90 credit hours allowed for transfer credit.

Graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nutrition may transfer up to 18 credit hours which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements. This includes credit by examination which may count for only 9 credit hours and are included in the maximum of 18 credit hours allowed for transfer credit.

Graduate students pursuing a Doctorate Degree may transfer up to 9 credit hours which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements.

The student’s official transcripts will be evaluated and transfer credit awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Transfer courses completed at an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • Must receive a “C” or above for undergraduate transfer credits and a “B” or above for graduate  transfer courses
  • There is a 20 year time limit for transfer of credits

Limits on Awarding Transfer and Extra-Institutional Credit
HUHS reserves the right to accept or reject any or all academic credits offered for transfer.

Transcripts can also be delivered through an approved electronic transcript vendor directly to Transcripts@huhs.edu. Any other emailed transcripts, faxed transcripts, or transcripts marked “Issued to Student” are not official and cannot be used for admission purposes. Electronic transcripts can be sent via:

  • eScript Safe
  • Credentials Inc.
  • JST
  • Other delivery services may be evaluated on request

Transferability of Credit Disclosure Statement

Per SB3789/HB3857, the State of Tennessee requires all educational institutions operating within Tennessee to provide the following transferability of credit disclosure statement to prospective students, prior to enrollment:

Credits earned at Huntington University of Health Sciences may not transfer to another educational institution. Credits earned at another educational institution may not be accepted by Huntington University of Health Sciences. You should obtain confirmation that Huntington University of Health Sciences will accept any credits you have earned at another educational institution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. You should also contact any educational institutions that you may want to transfer credits earned at Huntington University of Health Sciences to determine if such institutions will accept credits earned at Huntington University of Health Sciences prior to executing an enrollment contract or agreement.

The ability to transfer credits from Huntington University of Health Sciences to another educational institution may be very limited. Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat courses previously taken at Huntington University of Health Sciences if you enroll in another educational institution. You should never assume that credits will transfer to or from any educational institution. It is highly recommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer of credit policy of Huntington University of Health Sciences and of any other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer the credits earned at Huntington University of Health Sciences before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement.

International Credentials

Applicants with non-U.S. educational credentials may be required to first obtain a foreign credentials evaluation. International applicants seeking admission to undergraduate/graduate programs must obtain a general evaluation, while subject evaluations will be required for transfer courses. The admissions office must receive an official copy of the evaluation and transcript.

The University accepts third-party transcript evaluations from the following organizations:
