New students wishing to enroll at HUHS for the first time using Federal Student Aid (FSA) should complete the steps listed below at least four weeks before the last day of registration. Please note that some student applications for financial aid take longer to process than others as a result of factors beyond the control of HUHS. Students who do not receive their aid award by the first day of classes will need to pay out-of-pocket and be reimbursed or delay registration for the following term.
- Submit the HUHS Application for Admission
Please check the box indicating that you desire to use Federal Financial Aid as your payment method.
- Obtain a FSA ID
An FSA ID is comprised of a username and password and can be used to login to certain Federal Student Aid websites, such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).
The security of your FSA ID is important. Your FSA ID can be used to:
- Electronically sign Federal Student Aid documents,
- Access your personal records, and
- Make binding legal obligations.
If you are a parent and need to electronically sign your child’s FAFSA, you need your own FSA ID. If you have more than one child attending college, you can use the same FSA ID to sign their applications.
If your FSA ID is lost or stolen, you must:
- Contact Federal Student Aid’s Customer Service center at 1-800-433-3243,
- Update your username and password by selecting Edit My FSA ID, or
- Disable your FSA ID so that no one can use it by selecting Edit My FSA ID and selecting Disable My FSA ID.
If you do not already have an FSA ID and would like to apply for one, select the Create an FSA ID tab on the FSA ID log-in page.
The FSA ID Application Process consists of 3 steps:
Step 1: Enter Login Information
Step 2: Enter Personal Information
Step 3: Submit Your FSA ID Application
Once verification with the SSA (1-3 days) is complete, you will be able to use your FSA ID to access your personal information on Federal Student Aid websites.
Use https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/pub/faq.htm for FSA ID Frequently Asked Questions.
- Fill out and submit the FAFSA
The form can be found at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. Make certain to indicate the HUHS school code of 042448 on the FAFSA. If you have already completed a FAFSA, retrieve it and add the HUHS school code.
Monitor your email for important notifications concerning your SAR. The HUHS Office of Financial Aid will receive your FAFSA information and will contact you if necessary.
The FAFSA4caster site can provide an estimate of your eligibility for FSA. The information entered will later transfer to your FASFA if you decide to apply for FSA. You’ll need tax information on hand to complete this process.
- Finalizing the Admissions Process
Once your application is processed and all official transcripts have been received and evaluated, you will receive an email from the Department of Admissions to complete the admissions process. All forms, transcripts and other required documents submitted to Huntington University of Health Sciences will become the property of the University and will not be forwarded to another institution or returned to the student.
- Submit the Program Enrollment Agreement & confirm estimated federal aid
Once you have completed all the necessary steps, you will receive an email containing your Program Enrollment Agreement from the Department of Admissions and a Funding Estimate from the Department of Financial Aid. Both forms must be completed and returned to the University before registration is complete and you will be allowed to begin classes.
If you have any questions about applying for FSA, please contact the Department of Financial Aid at email@example.com or 865-524-8079 ext 1002.
